Americo C. Labruna of Suffern NY died Jan 26, 2012 He was 96 born in Avellino Italy on Sept 24 1915 to Nicola and Raffaela Labruna. Americo came to the United States in 1931. He was a veteran of WWII serving under General Patton in North Africa and Italy with the 17th Field Artillery.He worked for the County of Rockland for 40years as a Paver and also as a private Landscaper. Americo was an active member of VFW Post 2973 0f Suffern NY for many years. He resided in Suffern for over 65 years. He married the love of his life Caroline Gennarelli in 1946. She passed away in 1998. He is survived by 2 Children son Ralph (Diane) and daughter Linda Warbrick He is also survived by 4 grandchildren Renee (Anthony) Stephen (Crockett) Laura (Jason)Amanda ( Michael) and twin greatgrandchildren Aubrey and Brayden. He was predeceased by brothers Umberto aka Albert Mario aka Armando and Carmine sisters Pasqualina Elena and Grazia. Family will receives friends Sunday From 2 to 6 pm at Scarr Funeral Home Inc Rte 202 Suffern NY Mass of Christian Burial Monday 10am at Sacred Heart Church Suffern NY Interment F.W. Loescher Veterans Cemetery In lieu of Flowers Contributions may made be to the D.A.V.
